Welcome to the open site of the Association of Self Builders

If you are thinking of building your own house, or renovating a house, the ASB provides an opportunity to meet others who are already doing it. By talking to other self builders you can pick up a lot of advice on how to go about it yourself. Even if you're only in the dream stages right now, you can talk to other members and find out how they got their plots, what materials and methods they used, etc., for it is always better to learn from others mistakes than your own!!

However, at the last AGM, the decision was made to wind up the association in its present form on December 1, 2008. The present committee members are not willing to carry on after that date. So no new members are being taken on.
